Big Bear Adventures

We had a great little weekend get away in Big Bear with Jaime, John, Kyan and Kellan.  Luckily the 60 degree temps didn't melt ALL of the snow, so we had plenty of fun just goofing around in the backyard of the cabin. As you can see from the photos below, the "boys" had a blast sledding and having snowball fights.  :)

The little boys got in on the action too, throwing snowballs at the big boys:

They could take it as well as dish it out!

Even Aunt Jaime got in on the sledding action

On Saturday morning Kyan had a skiing lesson at Bear Mountain.  We tried to get Quinn interested in skiing too, but he was much happier watching the action from the sidelines...maybe next year.

Although there is proof that he at least attempted to ski the day prior (thanks to Jaime for catching this!)

Later that day we teamed up with the neighbor's 4-year-old daughter, Lexie, for an afternoon of snowman building and snowball fights.  The kids won!

I won't kid you and suggest that our little boys were little angels on this trip.  They had some very devilish moments, as tends to be the case when we get these two together.  Just before the photo below was snapped they had been fighting over who got to wear the spaceship slippers.  Luckily they managed to reach a compromise!  And were happily pacified by an iPad episode of the Backyardigans. Whew...much needed break for the adults...

Jeff getting some QT with baby Kellan!

A rare peaceful shot of all three boys (when the older two were not dumping legos over Kellan's head).

On our last day there we went to a tubing area for one last day of winter fun.  At this spot they have an alpine slide, which is kind of like a bobsled run built into the hillside.  I've got to admit that it was a LOT of fun!  :)

Our turn!

It was a great weekend!  Thanks to Jaime and John for making it happen!  Hope we can make it happen again next year (and maybe get a few more of us up on skis next time).

I realize this is a very large posting, and Gogo appreciates that. But it's been almost a month...
