Reading

Saying Goodbye

With our NC departure date rapidly approaching we've been trying to squeeze in as much time with our friends as possible before we all go our separate ways for the holidays. There have been several potlucks, parties and casual gatherings. We're going to miss our friends here so much! I wish we could pack all of them up and take them with us.

Here are a few photos from a recent evening at Sarah's:

We also had a little gathering at our house last Sunday. It was great to see everyone.

Here's Finn with Emily...we hadn't seen him in over 2 years, but the Longs surprised us and drove the family up from Wilmington for our party.

Cape Cod Road Trip

Jeff had to go to DC and to Woods Hole, MA for work and Quinn and i decided to tag along. We first stopped in DC and had a brief visit with Kenli and then Bryan and Jessica (but didn't take ANY pictures *gasp*). We then headed north and drove up the coast to Cape Cod. This was a new part of the country for me...it was beautiful! It didn't hurt that we had near perfect weather for our two days on the cape.

We also had a bit of downtime in the hotel.

Quinn had his first birding adventure on the cape. He got bundled up and spent a few hours looking for sea ducks. It was great! I heard that Eiders could be seen in the area during the winter so I made it my goal to find one.

...and I was rewarded! Here's a shot of a male stretching his wings in the rising sun.

After Woods Hole we drove to Connecticut to spend some time with Erin and Jamie. They took us out for a great breakfast before we had to get on the road again.

We stopped in to see Kenli again on our way back through DC. We had a leisurely morning with her before she had to run off to yoga.

Lots of driving makes you crazy.

We had a great trip, but we're happy to be back home!
