Out in the field again! After many months working in an office for the North Carolina Coastal Reserve I've spent the past few weeks doing vegetation sampling in marshes in Bogue Sound and in the Wilmington area. It's great to be outdoors again!
Here are John, Lori and I on our way out...

Before working for the Coastal Reserve I worked for the Wildlife Resources Commission under Sue Cameron, the coastal waterbird biologist. She's leaving to take a new position as an endangered species biologist with US Fish and Wildlife Service in the mountains. She, Emily and I got together for coffee last week to say goodbye. Of course she'll be back, but it won't be the same. I really enjoyed that job and working with Sue and Emily. Best of luck to her in her new position!!
